1. Review of the first discussion

2, Cost structure for credit card, electronic money, code payment

3, Draft plan well known to consumers

4, Progress of verification at stores related to cashless payment

Let's start with a review of the first discussion. I will look up technical terms in the materials, words that I do not understand, and parts that I am concerned about, supplement them, and read on. The main opinions from the committee members are as follows.

It will be the opinion of each committee in the publicity to the store.

Member of the payment service provider side

●Regarding the merits of introducing cashless payments, the message about cost reduction hardly resonates with SMEs and sole proprietors. It is important to generously bring out benefits such as an increase in sales and an increase in the number of visitors.

●With regard to the point of appealing to consumers for cashless payments, safety and security have not been sufficiently communicated, and there is a vague sense of unease. It is important to visualize the amount of fraudulent use, etc. published by the Japan Consumer Credit Association for each type of payment method and convey it to consumers.

●Among the benefits of cashless payments from the consumer's perspective, profitability is a competitive area. As a common part for each company, shouldn't we discuss how to disseminate convenience and the safety and security of cashless payments?

Other committee members

●According to a survey on cashless payments, the biggest reason why stores do not introduce cashless payments is “there is no demand from customers.” are selecting stores that accept cashless payments, which may result in lost opportunities without the stores even realizing it. This point should be verified through consumer surveys, and methods to inform stores should be considered.

Main comments from observers

● The reason for not introducing cashless payment is that there is no demand from consumers and that there is no benefit to introducing cashless payment. There are studies that show that. If member stores recognize this fact, they will likely introduce it. Efforts should be made to communicate this to franchised stores.

summary

☆ Interestingly, the biggest reason why stores did not introduce cashless payment was that "there is no demand from customers." I also choose stores that accept cashless payments in my daily life. I have the impression that there are quite a lot of cash-only stores in rural areas. I didn't have cash at the first shop, so I collected coins and barely paid. I have a lot of experiences like this. Hiyahiya, isn't it? I think that the fact that stores have not introduced cashless payment is causing an opportunity loss by reducing the absolute number of customers without realizing it. There must be quite a lot of customers who can receive services with peace of mind if there is a cashless payment OK sign at the storefront. I thought a few percent would affect sales.

I will end here for now.

Next time, we will look at the cost structure related to credit cards, electronic money, and code payments.

Thank you for reading.
