繊維産業のサスティナビリティ報告書を読んで。vol.11

Read the textile industry sustainability report. vol.11

I would like to study the current situation of the textile industry in Japan by reading the report of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, "Blueprint for a New Era" July 2021.

Deepen your understanding by commenting and supplementing excerpts from the report. I would like to read on in style. thank you.

It is from the continuation of vol.10.

4.Supply Structure (3)Future Efforts 1.Utilization of Digital Technology It has been pointed out that apparel companies, which are responsible for product planning and sales, play a central role in solving various problems. It is necessary to avoid discount sales as much as possible and decide the content, quantity, and price of the product to be sold at the planning stage, and to manage the sales status and inventory at each store and online when selling. Utilization of digital technology, such as efforts to efficiently grasp information using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification: electronic tags), is considered effective.

It is important to adopt digital technology and eliminate waste as much as possible.

2. Promoting customer-centered business development Today, OMO (Online Merges with Offline), which integrates online and offline management, is advocated. There are various possible measures to compensate for the lack of items in the market. It is necessary to build a new way of doing business. It has also been pointed out that in promoting these efforts, business development should be centered on the customer (consumer) rather than placing top priority on surpassing the previous year's sales. Efforts to sustain the number of fans of the company's own brand are important. This concept is beginning to spread as LTV (Life Time Value).

Manufacturers face many challenges, such as transparency of product production background, ability to communicate, digitization, sustainable system creation, environmentally friendly product production, methods of building sustainable relationships with consumers, etc.

3. Reform of the production process Efforts to shorten the production period are also attracting attention. There is an initiative for mass customization that produces and sells one-of-a-kind made-to-order items by linking individual orders according to individual preferences and body types with conventional production systems using IoT. In order to produce and sell in a short period of time, building a supply chain based on domestic production can also be an effective means.

Ragim is a supply chain based on domestic production. Furthermore, we would like to combine sustainable efforts to build our own supply chain.

Today is up to here.

thank you very much.
