繊維産業のサスティナビリティ報告書を読んで。vol.9

Read the textile industry sustainability report. vol.9

I would like to study the current situation of the textile industry in Japan by reading the report of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, "Blueprint for a New Era" July 2021.

Deepen your understanding by commenting and supplementing excerpts from the report. I would like to read on in style. thank you.

This is the continuation of vol.8.

3.Gender Equality (3)Future Efforts 1.Public-Private Roundtable In order to create an environment where women can work comfortably and to promote the appointment of women to managerial positions, it is necessary for the textile industry as a whole to make efforts. Representatives from the government and industry gather together to share and understand the importance of gender equality, and to discuss advanced initiatives (such as training programs for female executive candidates) and human resource development systems that companies should build. How about setting up a place for discussion and sharing (public-private round table)?

I hope that this roundtable will increase the number of female executives.

2. Presenting role models to the younger generation In addition to providing gender education that breaks down the unconscious bias for the younger generation who will be responsible for the future of the textile industry, we will also provide junior high school, high school, vocational school, university, etc. How about opening a course (Textiles, Fashion, Innovation School) for the younger generation who are aiming to change careers, where female leaders who are already active introduce their experiences and examples of initiatives that will lead to career development?

A lecture that will start next year. A realistic approach.

By the way, what is unconscious bias?

It is translated as “unconscious belief, prejudice”. It is caused by the brain's ability to "interpret everything in its own way" in light of what it has experienced, what it has seen and heard when talking to or interacting with someone.

Today is up to here.

thank you very much.
